How to Grip a Golf Club – Proper Golf Grip

December 22, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

One of the most important aspects in your golf swing is your golf grip. Your grip is responsible for the position of the club head at the point of impact with the ball. The point at which the club hits the ball will determine the balls flight path. This is why it is extremely important you understand how to grip a golf club properly and how to adjust your grip in response to your ball flight.

It is however important to note that there are a variety of different grip styles you can use such as:

Interlocking grip: Where your pinky on your right hand hooks with your index finger on your left hand.

Overlapping grip: Where your pinky on your right hand rests on the outside of your left hand in between your index and middle finger.

Baseball Grip: Where you hold the club similar to the way you hold a baseball bat, griping the club with all 10 fingers.

The most important factor when choosing a grip style is comfort, which grip feels the most comfortable to you, all will have the same effect on ball flight.

How to Grip A Golf Club Instructions

*Note that the instructions are given based on right handed golfers, if you are left handed just flip flop your hands.

1.) Start by holding the club your right hand where the grip meets the shaft.

2.) Take your left hand (palm up) and place the top of the grip in your hand, the grip should go across the bottom of your fingers. Placed slightly diagonally from the base of your forefinger to the bottom pad of your pinky.

3.) Then wrap your left hand around the club, laying your thumb on the top of the club pointing downward.

4.) Next, take you right hand (palm up) and place the club in your fingers directly below your left hand.

5.) Fold your right hand over the thumb of your left hand, where your right thumb also points downward.

6.) Make sure you are holding the club grip in your fingers more so than your palm with will allow you get maximum speed in your swing.

How To Grip A Golf Club Quick Tips

– If you tend to slice the ball or curve it to the right you want to make your grip stronger by shifting your hands slightly to the right.

– If your ball hooks or curves to the left, you want to make your grip weaker, by slightly shifting your hands to the left.

*Remember the direction of your ball flight always starts with your grip!

The Proper Way to Swing a Golf Club – Learn the Golf Swing Sequence

December 20, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

A good friend said to me last week “Show me a proper golf swing!”. Well, as you know the proper golf swing sequence is the most important part of your golfing. You can slice the ball and did not even know what was wrong with your swing. Maybe the only player who has the perfect golf swing is Tiger Woods. But even this legend is slicing and shooting a poor distance.

The right sequence starts with a good mental fitness. Stay focused with the eyes on the ball. Now you can start the takeaway and simulate the swing a few times. Visualize the movements and go through it step by step.

The next step is to take the club to the ball and start with the back swing. A basic rule is here not to speed up your rotation. A slower backswing is always better.

Now we go on to the downswing. Here you have to speed up and hit the ball with power and the best golf swing technique for a good length. This is the simple golf swing sequence in a very easy explanation. You have to have the optimal stance, grip and swing correctly to better your game.

The stance is vital, your feet should be as wide as you shoulders. The right foot aligned to the ball and the left foot slightly to the left. Keep your eyes on the ball to avoid slicing.

A proper stance is crucial. If your movements are not optimal you will not be able to maximize speed and distance.

If you implement these basic rules into your training routine you will see results very quick. Golf is a time consuming game and you have to practice a lot. The more you do the more you get. Go to the range and shot the ball a few times and practice your sequence. Take a look at golf guides and videos to see how to do it right.

Next you want to know the best golf grip and golf swing sequence to better your game and lower your score.

Mark Langer has helped a lot of people to improve their golf swing and showed them the right golf swing sequence. Troubleshoot Your Club Car Golf Cart: Some News

September 30, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

Golf Carts are now very common all around the world. The ease of usability and low cost has boosted its demand a lot. It has made its way out of the Golf course to the outside world. Nowadays these vehicles are very common in our neighborhood, shopping malls, recreation centers, resorts, etc. Club Car is well known and one of the top sellers of Golf Carts. It is known for their durability and performance.

Here are some tips that will help you in troubleshooting your Cart.

1. First of all ensure that the key of the vehicle is properly inserted and gear position is correct. They key should be in the on position and the gear should be in the neutral position. Certain model of carts requires the parking brake to be applied while starting the vehicle.

2. The batteries of the Golf Cart are normally placed under the seat. Make sure that you have all the necessary protective gear before attempting to troubleshoot the battery. Always wear protective gloves made of rubber and also safety goggles. Check whether the connections of the battery and its various terminals are secure. Use a wrench to tighten any loose connections.

3. Check whether the terminals of the battery are corroded. Due to the acidic nature of the battery, there are chances for it getting corroded. Remove the corroded particles from the terminal using a hard brush. Use any acid neutralizing solvent if necessary. Securely tighten the terminals connections after cleaning.

4. The water level in the battery is an important factor. The life and the performance of the battery depend upon the water level. Open the battery caps and make sure the battery plates are well immersed in the water. If you feel that the water level is too low, fill it with distilled water.

5. Finally check all the wires connecting the battery and the various electrical fittings inside and outside the Golf Cart. Any wrong or faulty connection can lead to major problems. Using a multimeter to check the connection continuity is a good method.

Note:
Leaving the lights and other battery powered features in the on state can lead to battery discharge. Fully draining of the battery is not good for its health.

Tips to Choose a Hybrid Golf Club

August 28, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

What Is A Hybrid Golf Club

The truth is that hybrids have been around longer than you think. They just weren’t called hybrids. Have you ever heard of a rescue club or a baffler? That’s a hybrid!

A hybrid golf club is one which combines the good or desirable qualities of the iron and fairway wood into one club. In other word, a hybrid is designed to replace woods and irons. By mixing the best features of both clubs, your typical golfer will be able to keep the ball up in the air longer when facing a long approach shot.

Over the past decade, hybrid golf clubs have significantly grown in popularity among golfers world-wide. Over half of professional golfers carry at least one hybrid club in their golf bag. Choosing hybrid clubs requires the same deliberate approach that picking out new irons or a driver requires. Do you know how to choose right hybrid golf club from golf direct store online?

A beginner will have a harder time choosing the best golf club. As a golf player becomes more experienced, they are better able to discern what type of club works best for their particular game style. A player just starting out would be wise to choose a club designed for their skill level. Otherwise, they will find themselves struggling to control the ball because advanced clubs are less tolerant to mishaps.

How to Choose One

First, identify why you are buying a hybrid golf club. Most golfers, who may think the PING G15 Driver is good club, choose to get a hybrid to replace one of the long irons (two, three or four) or to complement or replace a fairway wood (three or five). This will determine the loft of the hybrid to purchase.

Second, determine the Hybrid loft angle that correlates to the club you are going to replace. Conversions for men’s hybrid golf clubs are:

14-16 Degree Hybrid – 3 Wood 17-19 Degree Hybrid – 5 Wood/2 Iron 20-22 Degree Hybrid – 7 Wood/3 Iron 23-25 Degree Hybrid – 9 Wood/4 Iron 26-29 Degree Hybrid – 5 Iron Conversions for women’s hybrid golf clubs are: 18 – 20 Degree Hybrid – 5 Wood/2 Iron 21 – 23 Degree Hybrid – 7 Wood/3 Iron 24 – 26 Degree Hybrid – 9 Wood/4 Iron 27 – 28 Degree Hybrid – 5 Iron 29 – 31 Degree Hybrid – 6 Iron

Third, choose a shaft type and flex to match your current set of irons or woods depending on what club you are replacing or complementing with the hybrid golf club. Many amateurs will make the mistake of buying a hybrid golf club off of the shelf that is a different shaft type or flex from the rest of the clubs in their bag, which increases the odds of inconsistency in their golf swing.

Fourth, match the offset of your hybrid golf club to that of your irons and/or woods as well as shaft length, in order to reduce the effect of having a different design of golf club in your bag from the rest of your clubs.

Enjoy!

Fifth, try out your hybrid at the golf-store before making a purchase. You may find that some of the hybrid club head designs are harder for you to hit the golf ball from the difference in visual cuing when striking a square golf club from a traditionally shaped one. At last, I would like to recommend the G15 Driver to you!

Golf Club Clones

August 13, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

1) What is a Clone Club?
Golf club clones resemble pro line clubs in almost every way. Golf club clones are made from the same high-quality materials that pro line clubs are, and often in the same foundries.
Clone clubs follow the new design concepts of the major brand names but at much lower costs and pass over the saving to the golfer. Custom Built Clone Clubs are anyway using the same shafts and grips like the brand names at same or similar performance but lower prices offering better value.
This means that Clone Clubs not only look like pro line clubs, and feel like pro line clubs, but also perform like pro line clubs.

2) Why do Clone Clubs cost so much less?
a) Price Advantage: Often clone golf clubs cost hundreds of dollars less than the name brands. Clone clubs are often offered online by smaller custom club builders. Online sales are factory direct without overhead costs of a traditional brick and mortar retailers. Because clone golf companies do not have large ad campaigns, high-cost sponsorships, and excessive marketing budgets, clone companies do not need to inflate club prices to cover those expenditures. The savings comes back to the golfer.
b) Custom Built Clubs: Pro line clubs are sold off the rack, i.e. are not fitted to the golfers individual needs. Custom golf clubs are often customized to the players individual specifications.

3) Why choose Clone Clubs over name brands?
a) Pro line clubs are not fitted for the golfer or their game, but clone golf clubs can be customized to meet your individual needs. We are all individuals and golfers are coming in all kind of sizes and shapes. Why shall your club come off the assembly line if your swing did not come off the assembly line? Taller golfers need longer clubs. Golfer with slower swing speed and senior golfers need a light weight shaft with a softer tip section to get the ball easier airborne. Most average golfers need a driver with higher lofts than offered as ready made clubs in big box stores.
The advantage of custom built clubs is that they are custom fitted to your individual needs. You don’t want to have your body adjust to the golf club sets. Custom made clubs aid especially average and high handicapped golfers who have the most to gain because game improvements can be immediately realized. The easiest way to lower your golf scores is to fit your clubs to your swing speed and physical body measurements.

Monark Golf Supply is an established distributor of a large selection of clone golf clubs components in business since 1998. We are located in Los Angeles County/CA.

Things in a Club Pro’s Golf Bag

July 10, 2015 By Golf Pro Tips Leave a Comment

You have been playing golf for many years. Did you use a lot of different companies when choosing the right golf bag, glove, clubs, shoes and so on for you game?

I am not one of the tour pros who get paid vast amounts to endorse their products; I have to pay for mine, albeit at a discount on the trade price. So this is not an advertisement for the company, it is my honest opinion as a Golf Professional on the quality of the gear I use.

The Titleist PROV-1 is without doubt the best golf ball I have ever used and has been in my bag for many years; in fact I think I have used a Titleist ball for the past 20 years. When I first started playing it was a Dunlop 65 fresh out of the wrapper, for those of you too young to remember, golf balls used to be packaged in a wrapper back in the 1970’s and before. My oh my doesn’t time fly by. Anyway where was I? Oh yeah, why the PROV-1? – Simple really, it goes a long way, flies high, stops on a sixpence and has a lovely soft feel for those shots around the green. Enough said.

I use a Titleist Players glove or a Footjoy Sta-Sof glove, both are made from high quality cabretta leather giving you a superb feel and they are very comfortable to wear. A lot of amateur golfers use the All-Weather glove or synthetic versions, but I have never liked the feel of them and although the leather glove costs a little bit more they are worth it. I know a few of you guy’s use the all-weather glove because it has an extra pad on the heel of the palm to help with wear and tear. Nearly every glove wears out there first, some quicker than others. But that is a fault of either your hold on the club, usually gripping the golf club too tightly at address and loosening your grip at impact, causing excessive wear and tear on your glove. But that’s another story, see your local pro and he will help with this.

My Irons of choice are the Titleist Z-Blend Forged with a dynamic gold S shaft and tour velvet grip. They are a blended cavity to muscle back forged iron, which means that the long irons are cavity backed, the mid irons are a partial cavity and the short irons muscle back blade. This is a great idea and has been around for a few years now, help where needed in the longer irons gradually blending to a blade type short iron for that classic look and playability. I love these Irons, they are great to look at and have a lovely feel off the club head. In my humble opinion you cannot beat a forged club head for exceptional feel and playability.

So there you have it, just a few of the things you will find in my golf bag. The best ball, the best glove, the best irons and the best golfer of all time using them. OK scrap that last comment, we can all dream.

Enjoy your round, look after your golf equipment and if you are struggling with your game find a golf pro you like and respect and seek out some Lessons from him. If you work at any changes in your game then you will benefit from them in the long run, if you don’t, then it will be just like all the other tips you have discarded as being useless.
